Advent: Peace on the Trail
Last week, we lit the candle of Hope.
This week, we lean into the second flame: Peace.
Peace isn’t the quiet we expect when everything is smooth.
It’s deeper. Thicker. Truer.
It’s the stillness that settles in your bones even when life is noisy, messy, or uncertain.
Advent peace arrives in the middle of our storms, like Jesus asleep in the boat while the waves rage around Him. It’s not the absence of trouble; it’s God’s presence with us.
John 14:27 reminds us:
The world’s peace is conditional, fragile, borrowed.
Jesus’ peace is a gift, steady and full, for every step of the trail, whether smooth or rough.
This week, peace might look like:
Picture the second Advent candle glowing beside the first; Hope and Peace, side by side, lighting the way.
May peace settle over your heart this week like evening light over open country: steady, warm, and deeply comforting.

This week, peace might look like:
- A deep, steady breath before the busyness swallows your day
- Pausing to notice the quiet beauty God has placed around you
- Letting go of burdens you were never meant to carry alone
- Whispering, “Lord, be near,” and knowing He already is
